Hello friends! You find me sitting at my Brothers computer, which is in the bedroom I spent most of my childhood in! (I mean the bedroom parts of my childhood, I wasn't locked in or something!). I called in after dropping Billie off at school and found myself trapped - sort of!Only four weeks tomorrow until my Canada trip! It's over four years since I had any kind of Holiday. However I am trying to not get too excited, I won't be able to relax until I am checked in, and sitting down in my economy seat. Then I can get excited!
I have always enjoyed the travelling part of Holidays. That is the getting to the Airport, looking for gates, the ambience of Airports, buying a book or magazine that #I will probably never read, the tiny food, the worry over who I'll be sitting by (noisy child? chatty old lady?), watching the little plane on the graphics, changing my watch (- WATCH? was that it?). You get the picture!
I've never travelled alone before though (my ex-wife was the most organised creature that ever lived), so I am sure I have / will forget something very important! stay tuned for news on that.
(Depending upon when you read this it may still be un-embellished, as I said before , pictures are back at home on my external drive.) See you all soon?

Airline food drives me mad..I've never understood why people eat it..anywhere else if you were offered tiny mass produced plastic food you'd politely refuse, but not on an aeroplane ...people positively drool over those hot little parcels that you get with its own plastic cutlery set and waste bin, yet no space to move your arms to cut the bloody stuff up with...you'd be better off buying yourself a foot long sub to last you the journey !

Nope, not me ! only ever travelled first class once and ended up sitting next to a retired major's wife who talked the whole way across the atlantic ...total nightmare !! other than i now know how to escape from boring military dinners ....get the waiter to cover you whilst you crawl out apparantly, as you arent allowed to stand wholst the senior officers are sitting ....bizarre what you find out on planes
I'm good, i keep checking in on you every now and again, nice to hear you sounding excited though, i'm sure it'll be a great holiday ... Canada is a great place, full of v friendly people ;-)
